Neural Network Research
My current research interests in neural networks are mainly related to novel learning alorithms.
This includes a view of neural elements as autonomous agents interacting locally with the environment.
Investigations of this include experiments with networks whose neurons have a high-dimension internal state.
Genetic programming techniques are used to access and exploit the extra state information.
In other experiments, I am working with neural elements that learn to interact with the environment through an
external reinforcement signal.
